Executive with more than 20 years of experience in venture capital, specializing in the creation, investment, and development of science- and technology-driven companies in emerging sectors such as biotechnology, medical devices, agri-food tech, and deep tech. Since 2019, she has served as Portfolio Management Director at Xesgalicia, the venture capital and private equity investment arm of the Xunta de Galicia, with €300 million in assets under management, leading investments in biotechnology and healthcare companies such as Oncostellae, Origo Biopharma, Sunrock Biotech, Dawako Medtech, and Batea Oncology. Throughout her professional career at the various investment firms where she has worked (Unirisco, Uninvest, and Xesgalicia), Yolanda Falcón has held different positions that have enabled her to participate in all phases of the investment process, portfolio management, and divestment activities, having managed more than 90 investments and 17 exits, including 5 international divestments. Currently, Yolanda serves as a board member and/or monitoring committee member of several companies within Xesgalicia’s portfolio, as well as of venture capital funds and innovation accelerator networks in which Xesgalicia participates. Yolanda holds a degree in Business Administration and Management and a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Santiago de Compostela, with specialized training in leadership and entrepreneurship from the Haas School of Business (University of California) and MIT.
